Though most people, at first look, would think that Pepper Lunch might just be offering food for lunch, but it is not. Pepper Lunch is a Japanese food franchise that is into hot plate foods. Early this week, I was able to try
Salmon Pepper Rice.
The Place
GirlandBoyThing and I visited the SM Megamall branch of Pepper Lunch. The place is neat. With a

It is noticeable that each table has the condiments and survey sheet.

The interior has shades of black. each table is set to accomodate four people. On the side is a water dispenser for customers' easy access for drinking water.
The Food
Mr. Bien Caro, marketing officer of Pepper Lunch, introduced their main courses and desserts. I tried the Salmon Pepper Rice

The food took around 10-12 minutes to be served. The Salmon Pepper Rice was served on a hot plate. Each customer has the option to either finish the "cooking" on the hot plate or the restaurant's crew can do it for you.
The Taste
Salmon Pepper Rice I tried to be objective during the tasting, so not to 'cloud' my taste buds with presumption on my fondness for peppers. Going back to the main dish, the salmon was tender and has just the right taste. I like how the honey brown sauce can add flavor to the pepper rice. Honey brown sauce is one of the condiments on top of each table, together with salty garlic sauce, salt and pepper.

The plate makes the food really warm for roughly 20 minutes after serving. Don't be deceived of the looks of the rice. It may seem few, but believe me, it feels a lot more than what you see. Mr. Caro told us that they use authentic japanese rice. Probably, that's why it's kind of heavy on the tummy.
The Desserts
We were served with three of the desserts: Peach and Loops, Choco Rumble and Rainbow Surprise. I only tried the two, Peach and Loops and Choco Rumble. I like their vanilla, it's not that sweet but still creamy and tasty - making a good contrast and /or compliment for any add-on.

The Price
The Salmon Pepper Rice cost Php 275 per serving. Any add-ons will cost you more. Each serving is good for one person only. The desserts cost Php 78 per cup. Each cup is suitable for one to two persons. (

The Verdict
One interesting feature of Pepper Lunch is that the dishes are CUSTOMIZABLE according to one's liking for the day. One dish could actually have so many add-ons (like egg, fish, etc.) so the final dish will be to one's 'food trip' for the day. If you love peppers, hot plate and little experimentation on your food, then Pepper Lunch is a must try for you. With menus from beef, pork, chicken and seafood - almost anyone can be catered by this resto. Average spending cost per meal is Php 300. (As per commented by Pepper Lunch at the bottom)
