Privacy
What I collect, and what I don't.
Short version: an email address if you give me one, a form submission if you send one, and anonymous traffic counts. Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared for advertising.
This is written in plain sentences rather than legal boilerplate, because the person responsible for it wrote it. It covers the Philippine Data Privacy Act, and it applies GDPR-shaped rights to everyone, since a good portion of the people reading this are not in the Philippines.
Three situations, and nothing outside them.
If you subscribe
Your email address, the date you subscribed, and whether you open or click — which my email provider records automatically. That's it. I don't ask for your name, company or role, because I don't need them to write to you.
If you use the contact form
Whatever you type into it: your name, email address, message, and — if you came through the hiring route — the role and timeline fields. Submissions are stored in the site database and forwarded to my inbox, kept for 24 months and then deleted, unless the conversation turned into an actual working relationship, in which case ordinary business records apply.
If you just read
Anonymous, aggregated traffic counts: which pages were visited, roughly where from, and what device. No cross-site tracking, no advertising profiles, no fingerprinting.
What I deliberately don't do
No advertising network sits on this site, so nothing here is following you anywhere else. Videos load only when you click them, which is why no video platform sets a cookie unless you have asked to watch something. These were design decisions before they were privacy ones, and they happen to be both.
Four processors, none for advertising.
A small number of service providers process data on my behalf, each under its own contract. None of them receives a list from me, and none receives anything for advertising purposes.
Holds your address and send history, if you subscribed. Nothing else is passed to it.
Holds the site database and the server logs, including form submissions until they age out.
Processes request metadata to serve pages and block attacks. Not an advertising network.
Only after you click a video. Nothing loads from them until you do; once you do, Google’s terms apply to that playback.
If you want to know exactly which providers these are, ask and I will tell you. They are listed by category rather than by name only because the names change, and a page that quietly goes out of date is worse than one that stays general on purpose.
Ask, and it happens.
Under the Data Privacy Act you may ask to see what I hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, object to how it is used, or receive a copy in a portable format. If you are in the EU or the UK, the GDPR gives you materially the same rights, and I apply them regardless of where you are writing from.

If you only want your email address removed, the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every issue is faster than writing to me and does exactly the same thing.
If you think I have handled something badly, you can complain to the National Privacy Commission — but I would rather you told me first, because it is usually fixable.
Two kinds, and one of them is off until you say otherwise.
Session handling, security, and remembering your cookie choice so I do not ask again. These cannot be switched off, because without them the site does not work.
Anonymous visit counts. Off until you accept them, and no analytics script exists in the page until you do — a banner that appears after tracking has started is decoration.
You can change your mind at any time — — or by clearing cookies in your browser. The choice is stored for twelve months and then asked again.
Security, honestly stated
The site runs over HTTPS, the database sits behind the host’s access controls, and administrative access uses two-factor authentication. I would rather say that plainly than claim a level of protection no personal website can honestly guarantee. Do not send me anything through this site that you would be harmed by losing.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top changes and subscribers are told in the next issue. I will not quietly rewrite it.
